“Religion is not a fractional thing that can be doled out in fixed weekly or daily measures as one among various subjects in the school syllabus. It is the truth of our complete being, the consciousness of our personal relationship with the infinite; it is the true center of gravity of our life. This we can attain during our childhood by daily living in a place where the truth of the spiritual world is not obscured by a crowd of necessities assuming artificial importance; where life is simple, surrounded by fullness of leisure, by ample space and pure air and profound peace of nature; and where men live with a perfect faith in the eternal life before them.”

Finally, a definition of religion that resonates with me.

“Those who in the name of Faith embrace illusion,
kill and are killed.
Even the atheist gets God’s blessings-
Does not boast of his religion;

With reverence he lights the lamp of Reason
And pays his homage not to scriptures,
But to the good in man.

The bigot insults his own religion
When he slays a man of another faith.

All that is shameful and barbarous through the Ages,
O, I hear the trumpet call of Destruction!
Time comes with her great broom
Sweeping all refuse away.

That which should make man free,
They turn into fetters;
That which should unite,
They turn into sword;
That which should bring love
From the fountain of the Eternal,
They turn into prison

And with its waves they flood the world.
They try to cross the river
In a bark riddled with holes;
And yet, in their anguish, whom do they blame?

O Lord, breaking false religion,
Save the blind!
Break! O break
The altar that is drowned in blood.

Let your thunder strike
Into the prison of false religion,

And bring to this unhappy land
The light of Knowledge.”

“Why can’t I feel/experience His Presence and Love? Not emotionally but in my heart? (my State and Sense of BEING)”

Read my article about the questions we ask about God and how we ask them.

Short answer is you can!

Why don’t you? Or, Why don’t you FEEL like you FEEL God’s presence or EXPERIENCE Him?

Notice how important feeling is to this question.

Perhaps it’s because we can’t see God that we must feel Him to experience Him. At any rate, it’s very important to feel God.

Let’s consider something that Paul spoke from Mars’ Hill to the men of Athens:

Acts 17:24-28

24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

25 Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. (KJV)

I love these verses because they give us some insight into what Paul knew to be true about God. He knew that the Lord desires men to seek Him and find Him. Paul also knew that God wasn’t far from any of us.

We are God’s offspring according to these scriptures. The creation story states that we are made in God’s image. This is really saying the same thing. We are spirit, God is spirit. We are truly an aspect of God if you will. A part of God. Just as you are a part of your parents.

You are not your mom or dad, you are uniquely you. That spiritual being that you are is in the image of God, your mom, your dad, me and everyone else too for that matter. Pretty amazing isn’t it?

So where is the problem in feeling and experiencing God?

There are a couple things that come into play here.

First of all, we spiritual beings tend to become pretty absorbed in our human experience. We nearly lose sight of the fact that we are spiritual. We tie our spiritual experiences to religious activities, and the steps and rules required by our religious systems. Those things are completely physical and tied to the carnal aspect – our human experience.

When we seek to find God in religious systems, God’s presence seems to be an elusive emotional experience produced by the minds interpretation of external stimuli – such as the quietness of the interior of a church building, the singing of hymns, the observance of others or ourselves making religious commitments/steps such as praying, accepting Jesus, baptism, going into the ministry, etc.

Experiencing God in this way leads us to believe that we may only feel God within some religious context.

The other thing is that we’re largely unaware of our true nature – that of spiritual beings.

We’re very much consumed with the human/physical experience of our life on earth. Most of our time is spent on caring for, providing for, protecting and preserving the physical body.

When we’re focused almost completely on the physical and believing God is experienced in religious contexts we rob ourselves of countless possibilities of truly feeling God.

Learning to be still solves the problem.

When we become still, we remove our attention from the physical.

Tuning into stillness without judgment we find ourselves and God at the same time.

Have you read “Who Told You That You Were Naked?“ This will help you understand judgment and what it does to us.

So experiencing God and feeling Love is really as simple as being still. Be still and know that I am God, scripture teaches. It really does work!

If you still struggle with stillness be sure to read the other articles on this site related to being still.

How will I know it is God’s voice and not my conscience?

This is an interesting question to me because I was raised to believe that one’s conscience had to be trained by God and one of the ways God spoke was through the conscience.

Let’s take a look at a story in John’s gospel chapter eight.

John 8:3-11

3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. (KJV)

Apparently these religious leaders had caught this woman in some sort of adulterous activity. They brought her to Jesus hoping to trap Him. They probably knew that He’d be more lenient with her than their law commanded and they might be able to accuse Him of violating Moses’ law.

No doubt they were surprised at His answer. It was a reply that caused them to turn their attention inward to the extent that the outward situation they had created was no longer an issue or concern.

Jesus’ statement engaged their individual consciences, they were convicted thereby and one by one they left the scene.

What happened here? It appears that the words of Jesus activated the conscience of each accuser. The conscience of each one changed their direction that day.

It is important to note what conscience is. Let’s look at a definition.

Conscience is an aptitude, faculty or judgment of the intellect that distinguishes whether one’s prospective actions are right or wrong by reference to norms (principles or rules) or values.

In this scripture conscience was self judgment or self condemnation. According to their own customs and laws they were sinners and therefore unfit to throw a stone at another. They had not realized it until God’s word shone upon their hearts.

Had Jesus not been there that day that woman would have died. It would have been perfectly legal and right according to the law of the day. Their collective conscience would have been clear on the issue.

Jesus’ words produced a new perspective to old programming.

Let’s consider some important distinctions about conscience and God’s voice:

Conscience is based on learned rules and values that are accepted by our culture and society.

God’s voice is pure truth – free of all cultural and societal encumbrances.

Following conscience alone we can only repeat what our fathers have done – that’s what those religious leaders were doing.

God’s voice activating a new perspective within our conscience will produce new and different behavior.

God’s voice will always point our view inward.

God’s word won’t judge us or anyone else. Where did the judgment come from in this story? Conscience.

Conscience judges and condemns us either to do or not to do some deed.

I wonder what would have happened if those Pharisees had stayed to hear Jesus speak to the woman?

What would they have done when they heard his words: “Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.”

Those words are words of life. They left to suffer their own condemnation not hearing the freedom giving words of Jesus – words that would have applied to them just as well as to the accused woman.

As we learn the distinctions between conscience and God’s voice we can discern which is which.

Perhaps the greatest distinction is that God’s voice always leads us to life and freedom.

Conscience without God’s voice leads to judgment, condemnation, guilt and shame.

Judgment is a fascinating topic. Download and read “Who Told You That You Were Naked?”. This article explores what happened to Adam and Eve and what judgment does for all of us.

How to know clearly that it is God speaking to you.

We’d all like to know very clearly and with absolute certainty when God speaks that it is indeed God.

While I know it’s possible I also know how easy it is to find ourselves in a place of doubt. Certainty lies within us. There is no external acid test to determine if a message is from God. Some would recommend to read the Bible and compare what you read with what you’ve gotten from God to decide if a message is from God.

At first blush it would seem that there’s nothing wrong with that method. I question it however because many so called Christians are using that very method and are creating much discord and dysfunction within the body of Christ and feeling very little or no real connection to God. Most of the time the result is getting caught up in all kinds of judgments and analytics with no real evidence of the Spirit at work whatsoever.

Consider this passage from Luke 24. It’s the story about the “Walk to Emmaus”. I don’t usually post large portions of scripture but I’ll make an exception in this case so everyone may read the entire story here:

Luke 24:13-32

13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.
14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.
17 And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?
18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?
19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:
20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.
21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.
22 Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre;
23 And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.
24 And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.
25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? (KJV)

These disciples were very familiar with Jesus, had spent much time with Him – walking, talking, eating, and hearing his teachings.

No doubt they were in a state of upset over the recent events. They were hard at work trying to make sense of it all.

When Jesus appeared and joined their walk and began talking with them, they didn’t recognize Him.

Scripture says “their eyes were holden”. (verse 16) This was not some trick on God’s part – nor do I believe that Jesus appeared in some unrecognizable form – a disguise if you will. No, the block was within.

There is something that will always prevent us from seeing reality: When we are completely and wholly consumed with and concerned about the apparent external and physical aspects and events of our lives, our eyes are “holden” – prevented from seeing what is real – and right in front of us.

All our attention is focused on the perceived problem or issue – and we can’t see the solution when it’s right in front of us.

This doesn’t have anything to do with God. It’s our focus – our condition that creates the block.

In verse 30 they’re gathered around the table and they recognized Jesus after he blessed the bread and gave it to them.

Was it the act of blessing the bread that woke them up? Who can say? Here’s my thought: At that time they were relaxed and their focus had shifted from the recent troubling events to eating.

Perhaps the walk, and now sitting down preparing to partake of good food with friends helped them relax. They were in a place of safety. The recent murder of their beloved Jesus was pushed back out of focus. They were present in that moment. The blessing was given – a shift to gratitude – focusing on thankfulness for food, safety, friends and fellowship. And their eyes were opened. Could there be a correlation? I think so.

It’s in stillness that God is known. Focusing on that which we’re thankful for has a stilling effect on the mind that tends to run from one problem to the next. Sitting down with family and friends to a good meal tends to have a relaxing effect.

Relaxation is very important. It’s a piece of being still. A relaxed spirit is trusting. In that state you are receptive to hear and receive that which comes from God.

So how can you clearly know that God is speaking to you? Keep yourself in that open receptive state of relaxed stillness. Otherwise God could be standing directly in front of you and you’d not know it.

Don’t get caught up in the apparent events of your life. Don’t get caught up in thinking that God isn’t speaking to you or that you won’t know it when He does.

Practice relaxed stillness with gratitude.

Can God be that feeling in your gut that says no?

God is much more than a feeling in your gut – but that feeling is very likely communication from God.

Remember that we are spirit and God is Spirit. Our bodies provide a vessel in which our spirit dwells here on earth. Scripture tells us that our bodies provide a place for God to dwell as well.

We could think of our bodies as an instrument or tool which we use to sense spirit. The condition of our bodies reflect the state of connection to spirit.

Through practicing stillness the body is capable of tuning into spirit. In these moments we may obtain direction, inspiration, creativity, and yes or no answers to our current questions.

As you have probably experienced – a feeling in the gut that says “no” can feel very strong – it’s sometimes as if our entire body is screaming “NOOOOOOOO!!!”

God also says yes and I think God says yes more than no. Yes feels different than no. I’m sure you’ve experienced yes as well.

There are people who are very much into being aware of the yes/no response of the body. There’s nothing wrong with that and a relationship with God can be so much more than bodily yes/no sensations.

Getting yes or no answers to pressing decisions is important and practicing that skill is a great step on the path to deeper relationship with God.

There were a few years where I couldn’t see a relationship with God as being much more than that. I felt like relating to God could be more but I just didn’t know what that would look like.

I didn’t realize at that time that God speaks through a flow of thoughts. Looking back I really didn’t know how God spoke. I just thought I had to depend on what God had already spoken to people as it was recorded in the Bible. I somehow knew deep down inside somewhere that I could experience God speaking to me as He had spoken to those Bible characters but I didn’t know how.

It was a long process over many years for me to learn how to have a real two way relationship with God – I’m still learning!

One of the reasons it took me so long is that I didn’t trust anyone outside my religion for any kind of advice or guidance. I now know how narrow minded I was. Heck, I still struggle with some of those old ways of thinking. You don’t get over old programming overnight!

I share this because if you’re at the point where you’re trying to get yes and no answers from God you’re at a good place. Don’t feel like it’s a stopping place however. You can have much more as you continue to relate to God.

As I’ve said before: We’re all on a journey. We move forward by taking one step at a time. We all start somewhere but really it’s the same place. It doesn’t matter what we’re handed as children, proving God is something we all must do for ourselves.

Trust your body. It’s very sensitive to the Spirit of God if you provide it the stillness to be free of physical distractions – and if you intend it to be.

Don’t underestimate the power of your intention. Intend that your body be sensitive to Spirit and get out of the way!

I sent out an email inviting my subscribers to take a look at Lola Jones’ book

“Things Are Going Great In My Absence”

A visitor left a comment on the Lola Jones page describing herself as a nervous Christian.

If you are a nervous Christian or experience Christian anxiety, I know where you’re coming from.

I was raised in a very fundamental religious organization. God, along with what pleased God was very tightly defined and fit in a very small box.

I remember wrestling with some of the ideas as a teen. I didn’t really see how they were right or could be right. I couldn’t ask anyone in my family and couldn’t ask a minister because they were all teaching the belief system and I already knew what the answers would be.

I didn’t know who to trust. So I did what anyone in my situation would do. I accepted something I knew wasn’t right. If that won’t create Christian anxiety and depression, I don’t know what will!

If you were handed God in a box at an early age you likely knew something was amiss too. There’s something in young people that sees through much of what adults accept and teach.

That’s “what’s wrong with kids these days” – they know at a deep level that much of what they’re taught isn’t helpful, beneficial or needful and yet there doesn’t appear to be any other way. That is the root of the dysfunction that shows up as alcohol and drug abuse and all the other issues that plague the youth of today.

You hand someone a system to live in and by – that hasn’t worked too well for you – and you know it and they know it and what do you expect?

But I digress.

Thing is – I jumped fully into the system. I even entered the ministry. Not that I did all of this solely on my own. I have no doubt that God was at work in my life and guiding me every step of the way.

You see, life really is a journey. God really is in control. I know we say that but most of the time we don’t really believe it. We look around thinking that the world is going to hell in a hand basket and wonder when the next disaster will strike. Go ahead and say it isn’t so…

Truth is: God is in control and all is well. God has a way of guiding us despite our thoughts to the contrary. And He brings us along, helping us learn and grow and understand deeper truths as we are prepared to accept them.

You likely wouldn’t have tolerated the content of this site two years ago. You may feel a little nervous reading it now.

That’s okay. We gain comfort from those who agree with us and learn from those who don’t agree with us.

I didn’t create this site to comfort people who keep God in a box.

If reading this creates a little discomfort while it intrigues you then you’re likely learning and growing. If it generates downright fear that God is going to strike you dead then you may not be ready yet.

Jesus pushed people out of their comfort zones. He pushed even His own disciples out of their comfort zones. Faith take us outside the comfort zone of the ordinary, old ways of thinking and being.

Believers aren’t called to be nervous. Being nervous indicates a little doubt maybe? Some fear?

What is there to fear?

I was taught that our belief had to be protected. I was taught that to read other spiritual books would deceive me. Actually reading anything other than the Bible was discouraged. That didn’t keep me from reading Louis L’Amour and Archie comic books. The violent comic books weren’t allowed – and I have no problem with that.

I have learned that truth requires no defense. That took a load off! Believe me it’s a heavy burden to know what is true and have to defend it all the time.

Here’s a tip: If you’re belief system demands your constant defense and protection it’s less than absolute truth.

Think about the clear, no nonsense way in which Jesus taught. He didn’t have to defend anything He taught. He simply laid it out there to be accepted by those who would accept it.

If you’re constantly having to defend your beliefs to yourself and others – you are likely very tired – it takes more energy than you realize to live like that.

Luke 12:32

Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. (KJV)

I John 4:18

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. (KJV)

God is Love. Be Still and Know God. You’ll know Love with no fear.

This isn’t some empty promise either. This is real and you can experience life this way – with complete faith and trust – free of fear and doubt.

You’ve certainly had the experience of hearing what someone speaks to you and then later on discovering they meant something completely different than what you understood. An uncomfortable feeling typically!

So what about when God speaks? How can you be sure you understand exactly what God says?

Fortunately God has eliminated the confusion. That being said, we may add the confusion back in, but it doesn’t have to be that way.

Here’s why:

When God speaks to you – you may hear words or you may not. Either way you will receive an impression in your spirit that conveys the meaning to you. In fact, when you get the meaning, you may actually have difficulty putting it into words.

If you journal as you receive words/thoughts from God it will be easier – regardless you will receive the original meaning within your spirit. Other people may read your written words and get some other idea but you’ll have the true meaning within you.

That’s why God’s way of communication is far better than anything we could come up with.

God’s way doesn’t require any interpretation or second guessing or even second opinions! Communicating with God doesn’t require learning a new language. Anyone and everyone can do it.

I John 2:19-21

They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. (KJV)

Strong’s Dictionary gives this definition for “unction”

the special endowment (“chrism”) of the Holy Spirit:

That “special endowment” is the Spirit of God within you that understands perfectly what God is saying to you. You may choose to have absolute confidence in that. Choosing to doubt, fear and question is up to you.

If you will simply practice being still and tuning in to that Spirit of God within you, you will not be confused.

This isn’t what you’ve been taught probably. If you’re experience is anything like mine you’ve been handed a set of rules, a God in a box and told that everything outside that box is wrong, bad and guaranteed to get you a one way ticket to hell.

There’s just one thing wrong with that teaching. It doesn’t work. You and I know it doesn’t work. We knew it didn’t work when it was given to us. I know I did. I accepted it because I didn’t know what else to do and couldn’t find the answers I needed to prove otherwise.

I didn’t know to look within. I didn’t know that God was within and had all the answers I needed. I thought I had to find someone out there who had all the answers.

That’s why life is a journey. We don’t figure it all out at once. You’re reading this because you’re still on the journey. You’ve already got everything you need but you may not know it yet. You’re still discovering, expanding, growing! And it’s awesome!

Jesus didn’t come bringing a bunch of extra stuff for us to take on. He came pointing people within. He pointed to the thoughts and intents of the heart. He pointed to beliefs and faith.

People didn’t understand because they were looking for external stuff. Prophets and kings and kingdoms and physical manifestations and all the other stuff that keeps people looking out there somewhere for the next solution to their problem. People are still looking out there.

Stop. Be Still. Know God.

It really is that simple.

One of my subscribers recently sent me a link to Divine Openings.

I don’t buy many books anymore but for some reason I bought this book immediately. I’m glad I did!

Lola Jones

Who is Lola Jones?

Lola is a teacher, artist, singer and writer. While I have not yet met her, I have found her writing inspiring. I have not yet written my book but when I do it will be similar. In fact, I could have written much of it myself. My personal experience is different of course. The spiritual principles however are the same as you’ve found in my site.

I love the simplicity of her book “Things Are Going Great In My Absence”. It is clear, practical, to the point, easy to follow and filled with light and truth! – and I’m only halfway through at this point – and can’t wait to get to the end. She encourages you to read it slowly and I’m trying my best.

If you’ve enjoyed my site I believe you will love Lola’s book.

The whole idea behind Divine Openings is about letting go and letting God. It’s about getting out of the way. This is truly our only job. Opening to the Divine isn’t some difficult, nearly impossible task that we’ve got to get right before something bad happens. Lola Jones explains very clearly how to get out of the way and let Grace in.

Another thing I like is the way she points you to the Divine within. She’s not seeking to create a following of spiritually dependent people. You don’t need a guru or spiritual leader. You already have everything you need. Open up to that fact. Lola’s book will jumpstart the process for you.

Of course God hears you! But then you’re asking a guy who has created an entire website about communicating with God… I have to say yes! And I really believe it!

Let me try to explain:

First a word from Isaiah:

Isaiah 59:1-2

Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. (KJV)

This scripture makes it clear that it is your stuff that has hidden God’s face and blocked God’s ear. Not that you have changed God – not at all. God remains forever as He is – the I am that I am.

Your stuff created the illusion for you that God cannot help you or hear you.

What exactly is this stuff that’s creating this problem? Isaiah has the answer for that question as well:

Isaiah 59:7

Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths. (KJV)

The stuff that creates the illusion that God cannot help or hear is your thoughts. Thoughts of God that aren’t reality. Thoughts of yourself that aren’t reality. Thoughts of all types that aren’t in alignmnet with the truth. (we’ll get to that in a moment)

You may not have realized that you entertain thoughts of iniquity – or you may feel that your mind is full of them – either way, we all entertain thoughts that don’t serve us – thoughts that aren’t truth, thoughts of iniquity.

I’m going to suggest that every thought we entertain that describes God as limited or less than He is – is a thought of iniquity.

If you think “God can’t or won’t hear me” – you kind of sense in your soul that it’s not true right? Yet in our state of fear and doubt we sometimes entertain thoughts like that – maybe all the time.

Believe me – that kind of thinking is less than worthless – and it’s iniquity. It separates between you and God – and it’s all your stuff. God didn’t think the thought, didn’t give it to you – in fact God’s reaching out to you to prove otherwise. You can’t see or hear Him because of your own thoughts. Your thoughts create the walls around you that keep you stuck where you are.

This is sounding way to negative and depressing – practically like a rant – but then so does Isaiah chapter 59 – anyway, let’s move on to something more positive.

Let’s go to John 17:

John 17:20-22

Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: (KJV)

What does it do for you to know that Jesus prayed for you? How does that fit with your thoughts of God?

I want to draw your attention in particular to these words of Jesus: “that they may be one, even as we are one”.

You and I are one with Jesus and the Father. This isn’t something that suddenly occurs when you believe – it is the eternal truth of who you are. True belief in Jesus simply brings this truth into your awareness. If you haven’t been aware of this truth it is because of some of those afore mentioned thoughts.

Awareness of this truth of oneness grows as we seek God and invest time in His presence communicating with Him and hearing His voice.

So does God hear you? Absolutely! As you are one with God, it is impossible for God not to hear you.

There is plenty of teaching out there that would argue with me. I’m aware of it and have taught in the past. That was before I exchanged a belief in religious systems for a belief in Christ. There is a huge difference!

I’m not here to argue with anyone. I do however challenge you to examine your thoughts about God, yourself and your world. Are they reflective of the truth that Jesus taught? Are they thoughts of love, peace, joy etc that are growing you into greater awareness of your oneness with God?

If not they’re not serving you. You may even wish to repent of those thoughts. Read some thoughts on forgiveness and repentance.
