Ask And It Is Given!
If you’re not finding what you’re looking for on my site, it may not be here yet! So on this page I’m asking for feedback from you.
The way I figure – If you ask for what you want in a spiritual website and I am able to provide it then we’ll create something awesome together and we’ll both be better served! If there is something you feel would help you in your efforts to know God, communicate with God, and grow your relationship with God – please ask.
One of the great promises Jesus gave:
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matt 7:7-8 (KJV)

Hi Robert,
I’m very glad to hear ur experience. What u r saying is exactly true. I felt it many times. We’ve been often plagued by the beliefs we are holding from the childhood. I too was suffering from self-guilt, depression, umworthiness, etc bcoz I couldn’t keep up the standards put forward by my church. When I read ur experience, I felt a hope. Thank u for sharing.. May God bless u… Keep in touch…
Hey Sherin,
I’m glad you’re feeling hope. There is much to be hopeful and grateful about – especially when we let go of the beliefs that keep us stuck in guilt and fear.
Those beliefs will never serve us no matter how “right” we think they are. They are contrary to everything that Christ lived and taught. If we’re true followers of Christ we let them go as we become aware of them!
And the truth shall make you free!
Robert
Hi Robert
I have been intrigued by Jesus’ words on the cross, “Father, Thy will, not mine be done.” I am not a Christian so please forgive any errors in the quotation. What exactly did He mean? Was he giving up all body identification at that point of time and becoming one with the Spirit?

Padma,
Great question! I can only tell you what I believe.
It seems that Jesus was completely aware of his oneness with God. So at the spiritual level God’s will and Jesus’s will was the same. This is true for us as well.
On the physical level of the body, we seek the bodies preservation at any cost. We could call this the level of the ego, or human nature as scripture would refer to it. Jesus had the desire for the preservation of his physical form just as we do. In the statement you reference, he was simply “dying to self” as scripture teaches – putting the human desires under the spiritual desires and purpose that he shared with God.
I think he did give up all identification with the body. That’s an essential part of becoming one with God. I think Jesus lived in that state completely. In that way he was in constant awareness of oneness with Spirit/God/the divine – use the term you’re most comfortable with.
It’s fascinating that you – a self described non Christian are studying the life of Christ! I suspect you are a non Christian in the sense of not belonging to any religious organization that claims alignment with the teachings of Jesus. In a deeper sense you could probably lay claim to the title – but at that level – who needs the title?
Does the above make sense?
Thanks for asking,
Robert
